Hill Named to Prestigious Wuerffel Trophy Watch List
Black Knight Defensive Captain Recognized for On-Field Excellence and Off-Field Service
WEST POINT, N.Y. --
Army West Point defensive lineman Austin Hill has been officially named to the 2023 Wuerffel Trophy watch list, an honor given to college football players who best embody the ideals of service and leadership on and off the field.
The Wuerffel Trophy, presented by the All Sports Association, was founded in 2004 and is named after Danny Wuerffel, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1996 as the quarterback for the University of Florida and is known for his contributions to his community.
Hill, a team captain and senior from Whitefish, Montana, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to both academics and athletics throughout his career at West Point. In the classroom, he maintains a 3.96 grade point average (GPA) while pursuing a degree in systems engineering. On the football field, he has been a force to be reckoned with, earning All-Patriot League First Team honors in each of the past two seasons.
