Antonio Conte: Tottenham boss on winning, passion and 'suffering'
Exclusive: Spurs boss Antonio Conte sits down for his first interview as Tottenham head coach
The Italian on what is driving him at Tottenham after a 'difficult summer', his passion for the touchline and his memories of former boss Claudio Ranieri
"It's not enough to just entertain - my teams have to win."
From his home in Turin, Antonio Conte is giving his first interview as Tottenham head coach. He is relaxed, but his eyes carry the steely determination of a man who has spent his career chasing - and winning - trophies.
Conte has been out of work since leaving Serie A champions Inter Milan in the summer, but he is now ready for a new challenge. And he is convinced that Tottenham can be the club to help him achieve his goals.
"I'm very excited to be here," he says. "Tottenham is a big club with a great tradition and a fantastic squad. I'm really looking forward to working with these players and helping them to achieve their potential."
Conte is known for his passionate style of management. He is a demanding coach who expects his players to give their all. But he is also a fair man who cares about his players.
"I want my teams to play with passion and intensity," he says. "I want them to fight for every ball and to never give up. That's the way I played the game, and that's the way I want my teams to play."
